Candles as a gift can sometimes get a bad rap. And sometimes they deserve it. As a hastily-purchased, last-minute flail, they don't work. But I'd hate for them to go out of style totally. There are elegant options out there that many people would love to receive.
I love this natural, rolled beeswax pillar from Stetson Bee.

The fabric around this simple, unscented candle from Miso makes it a cheerful choice.

I wouldn't normally buy a scented candle as a gift unless I was very sure. And I wouldn't normally link to a scented candle I haven't smelled myself. But I'm intrigued by the promise of lemon tea from BeSem Natural Scents.

Pair any of them with a brushed steel lighter and a wick trimmer and you've got a great offering.
ETA: The fine folks at BeSem sent me a candle so that I could smell for myself. My hopes were fulfilled, it's perfectly nice and not synthetic-y at all.
