Checking in ...
Hello Fellow Blog Cabin Diehards,
At the behest of blogger Jacqueline, I realized that it's been awhile since I've checked in with everyone. No excuses here, except to say that the dog days of summer are upon us with the Blog Cabin.
Construction activity at the build site is white hot. Our latest video highlight is up, but I know you guys are looking for more, so please bear with us. More videos and slide shows are in the works!
Amy Wynn Pastor of Make a Move and Karl Champley of Wasted Spaces will be visiting the Blog Cabin site in early August, so look for new stuff then. Hopefully, I or Patty will be able to make the trip between now and then for the latest news and images.
Cheers and Keep-On-Bloggin',
Watson, DIYnetwork.com Manager
P.S. Don't forget! The season premiere of Blog Cabin 2008 is Thursday August 14 @ 9pm ET, so mark your calendars. You will also be able to enter to win the cabin online beginning that morning.
Update: Check out the latest slide show from my quick trip out to the site Thursday, July 24.

Thanks again everybody and it looks like they are going to rock that retaining wall for us.. Look at all the boxes sitting in the driveway..... Gotta go get lunch! I'll read the rest of the other page while I eat! THANKS BLOG CABIN TEAM! IT'S BEAUTIFUL! and I know everyone who looks at this big beautiful Barna blog cabin, is dreaming they'll be the one called to "make a move " right into Serenity Shores our blog cabin.

Wow, it's really coming along now! I keep looking at the cabin cam and just imagining all the work that's being done inside to keep this on schedule.
BlognBob, glad to hear your news. It's funny to think that we're all pretty much strangers and if I met anyone on this blog you could walk into me and I wouldn't know you at all...but here we've become friends in a very odd way. Strange to realize that after the cabin is given away all of this will go away, as well. Hmmm, life goes on, I guess.
It's nice to know that so many caring people are around us, however. I like reading the blogs, even though I'm not as faithful about posting them myself.
Anyway, enough philosophizing...thanks for the update, Watson! We look forward to more fun slideshows!

This Log Home is so beautiful, and with the honey color stain it looks complete. Now hopefully they will install the rain gutters to finish the exterior.
Looking at those boxes lined up on the driveway, makes me think that perhaps my hope for the matching foundation stone will be applied to the retaining wall. I think it will really add more beauty to the overall appearance.

Hi Watson,
Thank You for the new thread. I have a technical question. I have always had some problems with the videos freezing up. Should I be looking for an upgraded video card. While I can let certain videos from other sites run thru at first broken, then replay them without hesitations. I have never been able to get the vlogs to go thru without freezing up. I have a 200gig hp.so it should handle it I would think. But I have been told that sometimes the factory video cards aren't really that great.
Watson: Without knowing a little bit more about your setup, it's tough for me to advise. If your computer is, say, 4-5 years old, it could be the video card, but if it is a newer model, your card should be more than okay.
Clive,
I saw some folks in a Canoe in the Cabin Cam awhile ago. I was wondering if your river trip might have taken you a little further than usual or the water levels at your place had really gotten that high. Just hope you are having fun during your summer vacation whatever the circumstances. I have that Africam squawking and chirping at me...better see what is going on. Thought I saw some lions a bit ago. I'm pretty certain I heard some.
All those boxes in the drive also have me curious. At first I was thinking perhaps pavers but I believe now what Heading South has it right about it being covering for the retaining wall. I also love the color of the logs now. Exactly the color I would have gone for.

Hello Everyone!
Watson, thanks for the update. It is so difficult to keep up.
I hadn't been able to check out the cabin cam for a few days, and the stain does look sooooo beautiful! Again, a big thanks to everone who is working so hard on our beautiful Blog Cabin!
I too have not been blogging much, but do read most of the posts, and am so happy to be part of such a great community of people. If I am blessed enough to win the cabin, we are having a BFP...Boggin' Family P-A-R-T-Y and you are all invited! I can picture each one of you, as I read more of your blogs!
Cabincraver is still in my thoughts...
I've got to get ready for work...I've been off for two weeks and today is my first day back! :-(
Happy Bogging!

Wow! This blog, with only '4' posts, is almost full already! Dang. Unreal. Like I've said before, sometimes I have to give up when the posts get past 100 or so. I must not be die hard enough. I much prefer to read and move on. Go figure.
As for the new pictures, beautiful guys. I'm getting excited all over again. I await your next post Ahmed or Watson. Please, let me be the lone voice that may get me spammed for this, no repeats? Thank you. ~Betty~

That's my daily b/c dose you know the cabin cam.... Why didn't you warn me first! Boo hooo! I guess I'll re-watch the rerun slides and let my imagination take over. Are they rocking it to match the basement? or are they doing something a little different, A different type of rock wall with a few built in planters on it! Paving the drive? Doing the front landscaping today? I Can't wait to see.. I think I'm going to be ok, I'll be back later! Shhheww!! breathing in ~~ breathing out~~~~~ b/i~~ b/o~~~

Listed Below For You Are One Hundred Twenty-Five Comments* That Have Been Posted By Your “Off-Site Building Team” Extended Family (Including 2 Responses From Watson (Diynetwork.Com Manager), From June 16, 2008 @ 2:32 P.M. Through July 13 @ 4:25 P.M. ~

1 Posted by: A. Muse at June 16,2008 @ 2:32 PM: “ Dear Watson and Ahmed ....Is there anyway to persuade the producers that the first episode of 2008 Blog Cabin should be dedicated to: CABINCRAVER 2008 As you know, CabinCraver 2008 has played in integral part in this Blog from the very beginning. However, her last post indicated that she was to undergo further surgery in her battle with cancer. There have been no further updates by her or her daughter, Erika, since that comment was posted many weeks ago. Whether CabinCraver 2008 is with us in body, mind, or spirit is unknown. However, her impact upon the “off-site building team” has not diminished, nor have the good thoughts and hopeful intentions that continue to be posted for her by Elders and others in the 2008 “off-site building team” family. It would be a remarkable grand gesture on the part of the SCRIPPS/DIY Network to pay tribute to her remarkable spirit by dedicating that episode to her. Her support of the Blog Cabin remained strong and resolute, even as her mission to fight on become more critical and difficult. Whether she is recovering today, or whether her tenacity to beat the odds has run its valiant course, I believe such recognition would be a treasure for her, and for her family. Moreover....The Dedication of a show as evidence of the fond memories held by many for Cabincraver 2008, a very special 2008 Blog Cabin participant, speaks to the core values of the Scripps Network, too! Can you offer any suggestions as to how this could come to pass? Would sending emails directly to the Scripps Network (that an episode is dedicated to CabinCraver 2008) or posting similar requests here in this Blog be a plausible avenue to travel to see results? Thank you, Watson and Ahmed, for taking the time in your busy day to respond. Thank you to all the other 'off-site building team' family who think recognizing CabinCraver 2008 is this manner a good idea and take the time to follow-up with posts, comments and emails and any ideas/instructions from Watson and Ahmed that will cause this idea to be realized. I believe....Friendship Multiplies Our Joys And Divides Our Grief.”

I second your idea all the way! I do hope and pray that cabincraver is feeling better. I miss her sweet personality! If you are reading these blogs mrs cabincraver just know you are in all our hearts and all our prayers are with you and your family.” ___________________________________________________________________

Muse....I "ditto" you with all you are saying in regards to Cabincraver2008..I hope DIY will certainly takes your request into consideration, knowing that it has been quite sometime since we have heard from Cabincraver2008 or her daughter Erika. This blogging family does have a very sincere concern for Cabincraver, and I personally want to thank you for sharing your thoughts and your idea of a dedication to Cabincraver2008; and like you said with the tenacity she exhibited in contributing to the DIY Blogging Off Site Team inspite of her weaken condition fighting this cancer.....I hope that DIY will incline their ears to your post...”
4. Posted by: A. Muse at June 16, 2008 5:46 PM: “ to: Heading South and Carrie Miracle....Thanks so very much for posting your support of the idea to have the first episode of 2008 Blog Cabin in August dedicated to CabinCraver 2008. As always, the true spirit of 'family' that has developed in this Blog is evident in your prompt and sincere posts. And... to the many other Elders and ever growing 'off-site building team' family, I hope many more of you will find this idea of value, and give it a GREAT BIG THUMBS UP by pushing for it to be accomplished by the Scripps Network. If we are able to show that this idea has lots of viewer appeal, it may well become one of the comments that DIY and the Scripps Network embraces fully. TO Cabincraver 2008 and Her Family: Always remember: Friendship multiplies our joys and divides our grief. You are much loved. Please let your extended 'family' hear from you soon.”
5. Posted by: Noël B at June 16, 2008 6:28 PM: “I really hope something is done to dedicate this to CabinCraver2008, but if not done by the network, I know if I win I'll be doing a really nice bronze plaque commemorating the cabin to her and her family.”
6. Posted by: LindaL at June 16, 2008 9:48 PM: “well there are two questions about Cabincraver that haven't been answered by DIY.1. Can we get the episode dedicated? 2. Can we get a site for donations set up? Now I have another question. Is there a way DIY can connect with CabinCraver? Since you have all of our e-addresses maybe you can send a direct e-mail to her home and let her know we are worried about her.”
7. Posted by: BlognBob at June 16, 2008 10:00 PM: “Excellent idea with dedicating this cabin in the name of Cabincraver. This way her name and importance to our blogging family will always be remembered. I support your idea 100% percent. Watson, please will you let the DIY powers that be know our desires to make this happen. I know it is important to gather community support to make certain things happen. So, I am will be glad to help you push this one forward”
8. Posted by: Therese at June 16, 2008 10:01 PM: “Regarding Cabincraver - I work with cancer patients and have lost many friends and learned many lessons on living that I still stumble to weave into my moral fiber. Although I fully realize that there is a thin blue line between hope and denial - I do hope for some happy news regarding cabincraver.”
9. Posted by: Sandra from Louisiana at June 16, 2008 11:07 PM: “Hi all, thank you A. Muse. What a wonderful idea to dedicate the first episode to Cabincraver. I don't post much, but do read all of the blog messages. I also have been looking for a message from Cabincraver or her daughter as to how she is doing. She has been an inspiration to all on the blog and has shown all that with determination and faith you can continue to endure. Do you hear us DIY (Watson) we the blog family wish to dedicate the first episode of the 2008 Blog Cabin to Cabincraver who we all have been privileged to have in our lives”.Keep the prayers going,”
10. Posted by: Keight at June 16, 2008 11:50 PM: “A. Muse..... The idea of dedicating one of the episodes to Cabincraver 2008 is sheer genius! Thank you so much for offering this suggestion. I hope everyone does all they can to encourage the network to incorporate it into the show. There has been such an outpouring of prayers and wishes for so many in need of a little extra care and concern during this Blog. The discussions as to how to let Cabincraver and her family know that the 'off-site building team' is committed to seeing them through their difficult journey has continued even when the posts from them have stopped. I know what you are referring to as I have seen other programs on TV that run a 'Dedication Message' as the credits are rolling. It would be an extraordinary way to highlight the spirit of community (that develops among DIY Bloggers) for the Scripps Network. Watson and/or Ahmed ..... Any chance you can help us figure out how to get the dedication thing to happen? “
11. Posted by: Jenn at June 17, 2008 12:03 AM: “ A. Muse .... I want to add my name to the petition to have the first 2008 Blog Cabin episode Dedicated to Cabincraver. Any news yet as to how we can get the idea to the people in charge of the program content ~~~ Watson? Ahmed?”

13. Posted by: Barbara Turner at June 17, 2008 4:53 AM: “ I agree that some kind of mention of Cabincraver2008 should be made... if not a dedication... then Ahemd could explain how the Bloggers voted & discussed the things the cabin needed and that one of the Bloggers was fighting Cancer... and that the Bloggers (from across the US...sent well wishes to her) and that she loved blogging.. to the point of trying to keep in touch even when the Dr. ordered bedrest....and we haven't heard how she is doing since her surgery.. and everyone sends their Love... Know you can't say prayers on TV.... so say we send our Love and Best Wishes to Cabincraver2008 from Texas Texan in Okie land”
14. Posted by: Connie at June 17, 2008 8:58 AM: “ A. Muse: I agree wholeheartedly with you about dedicating a show to our dear Cabincraver 2008 and Erika. But, if that never comes to pass, I know I (and most of the other bloggers) would, if we win, find some way to memorialize our dear old friends. A bronze plaque at that water feature (which I am sure will be a beautiful place for meditation and prayer)seems just about perfect.”
15. Posted by: Jimmy at June 17, 2008 10:44 AM: “ Watson: I believe everyone would favor a recognition for Cabincraver, whatever her current condition might be, for her contribution to the 2008 Blog Cabin. Maybe if we all sign a petition listing our email addresses you can submit it to the right person in charge! If this is acceptable, please place a link on the Blog Cabin site!Thank you for your help, as we know you've got so much to handle already...But to us "off~site builders", this is a really big concern... 20. Posted by: Tingoat at June 19, 2008 7:25 AM: “ Dear blogger friends,First of all, thanks to A. Muse for consolidating all of the blogs asking for recognition for CC and E - great job rounding up all the blogs.I have been thinking about how to celebrate CabinCraver and Erika on DIY's Blog Cabin TV show and have been quiet up to now because I was unsure how to go about it. I would vote for a more permanent type of plaque or marker on the property. It doesn't have to be large or flashy just something that will endure. Then, any of us who might find our way to Serenity Shores at some point in time could see it and remember this experience and the part that CabinCraver and Erika played in it. Let's face it, the TV show will come and go, but a marker would last much longer...maybe even forever? this beautiful home would not exist in its present form without all of us who shared our ideas and feedback. Thanks for listening to my two cents worth. “
21. Posted by: A. Muse at June 19, 2008 8:17 AM: “Hi Helen Miko! “ One Final Question: Do you think giving a copy of the names (of those who think that an episode should be dedicated to CABINCRAVER 2008) to Ahmed, or one of the producers of the show that is out there when the filming is taking place, would help to get the idea into the hands of someone who could make it happen? I could compile a list of all the names of those who have responded and send you a hard copy, or post it and you could cut and paste it and present it to them. What do you think, Helen, good idea or not?”

25. Posted by: Carrie Miracle at June 19, 2008 2:14 PM: “River Media, blog cabin series editors, Watson, or Ahmed Our bloggers really are concerned for our blogging friend, Cabincraver 2008. We want to do something, extra special for her, to let her know we are thinking about her as she recovers from a very bad illness. We haven't heard from her in a long time. And the last blog we heard from her she was very ill, on bed rest, and she would still sneak out of bed and post us, to get a peek at the cabin she craves. Cabincravers blogs have now stopped coming. In one of her last post she blogged that she had just lost a dear friend to cancer and that she was put to bedrest again.(I'm not too sure exactly what illness she has, possibly it's cancer.) I pray she is ok. We really are worried about her and We all have been pleading for some kind of a surprise for her. The laptop thing hasn't been solved yet. If you read the blogs you will understand that blognbob and others suggested a laptop be donated to her from us, A gift, so she wouldn't have to keep sneaking out of the bed to peek at the blogs and it would give her something to do and keep her on the bedrest she needs. We wish we could hear from her, but we also understand that she is sick and needs healing and recovery and ease of mind is the most important thing for her right now. And we bloggers also understand, that you "blog cabin producers etc." have privacy policies and so forth to follow which prohibited us bloggers to act upon the laptop idea. But we bloggers: have a simple request, that you could make happen for our dear cabincraver 2008.... We (all the bloggers) would really appreciate it if you would consider one of two things for us.A.Muse one of our blogging friends came up with a beautiful idea:to just simply put a note up for Cabincraver to see in the beginning of the series when it starts, that we care about her and want to encourage her through this hard time. A simple get well wish. And there also are others like tingoat: who have suggested a small plaque with her name on it somewhere on the blogcabin grounds, Like he said the series will come and go but the plaque possibly could be there on the blog cabin grounds forever. "A happy spot for her think about" cabincraver really loves this blog cabin.
That, would even be a surprise and an uplifting encouragement all in itself for her to see. I want to suggest the idea of the fountain/water feature being the spot with a little plaque on it, if you can't roll the get well wish on the series or in the credits. Maybe just a closeup of her get well wish from the bloggers would be enough to let her know we lift her up in prayers and friendship. Cabincraver has a funloving and overflowing spirit you can just tell it in her blogs. If you haven't read them. You should! She has mentioned in a few blogs about fishing when she was younger. So with the water feature being in the back facing the lake, seems like the best spot for her the plaque to me. So it is very important: to all of us bloggers, as you can tell:
that we let her know that we are with her in spirit and wish her well in her illness, as we try to uplift her through our blogcabin friendship. Thank you all so much for the blog cabin and thank you especially for the chance to interact on blog and in the build. Thanks for listening!"
26. Posted by: Helen Miko at June 19, 2008 2:57 PM: “ Please add my name to the list for the dedication for CabinCraver as well. I pray she is doing better and recuperating-- and that is why we haven't heard from her. As for the list-- I would be more than happy to bring a list over to the producer, but I never know when they will be filming there. Does someone know where we can get some sort of schedule, so I can do that for CabinCraver?”

Something to say that a robot didn't clear our blogs for posting. “

42. Posted by: Gail at June 21, 2008 12:34 AM: “Hello Watson, Ahmed, and all of you Bloggers,I know I am at a time in my life where I am trying to slow down to a crazed pace, (versus a frantic one), and take time to smell the Roses and experience each moment more fully. Whatever is going on though, I have to tell you that the exterior photos of Serenity Shores brought tears to my eyes! The reality of the beauty of the cabin is so evident, as is the expert craftsmanship, care, attention to detail, commitment and love that has gone into creating this breathtaking place.I'm sure everyone can feel it. I think that is why we all feel so strongly that a dedication to Cabincraver would be so appropriate. Serenity Shores is a very special place. It has created such feelings of positive emotions and love...and it isn't even finished yet! Of course Scripps Network has a tough job ahead. I am sure they would love to honor Cabincraver and the blogging family by granting our request, but I realize how difficult and "politically challenging" this is. So as others have said, we are available to help with whatever it takes to help this dedication become a reality. And if it is not possible for Scripps, then we as the Blog Cabin Family can come up with something special! I am sure that just being part of this great community has helped Cabincraver as she travels one of life's toughest journeys. Gail”

She has been with us since the beginning and though her illness took her away from blogging at the end I think this would be a nice way to thank her and let her know that she is in all of our thoughts and prayers. Since this is "The Blog Cabin" I think it would be unwise for DIY and the Scripps Network not to do something like this especially since it is coming from the rest of the Bloggers!! After all without us they do not have a network now do they???? Cabincraver and Erika as always you are in my daily thoughts and prayers. Take care all. Erin Take care all.”

51. Posted by: B. J. at June 23, 2008 2:57 PM: “ Dear Watson Hawkins... This is only the second time I have posted a comment for your approval, and I would be the first to admit I am not among those that make up the prominent 2008 Blog Cabin “off-site building team” family that has developed over the months. However, even though I do not consider myself in the same league as these dedicated contributors, I have read with great interest the outpouring of support for CabinCraver 2008. I would like to present for your consideration, an observation I have made concerning this group....The most amazing thing about all of these heartfelt appeals is that NOT ONE OF THESE BLOGGERS ever seeks recognition for themselves, even though I have read that many in the “off-site building team" family face each day with lives altered by illness, disabilities, personal and financial hurdles, or other major issues. Yet, these individuals have once again spoken with one voice that seeks the “spotlight”, not for their own illumination, but rather, as a tool to bring into focus the contributions and needs of another, now absent from their group. Mr. Hawkins: I agree that dedicating an episode to Cabincraver 2008 is a magnificent way to reach out to her and her daughter and her immediate family to show the continued support of her “extended family”. I would also like to suggest that if a plaque or similar method of a permanent marker is to be placed on the 2008 Blog Cabin Property, it should be one that Commemorates the dedication and memory of the entire, amazing “2008 Blog Cabin “Off-site building team” as well. I am certain that many of the group, especially those who are oftentimes referred to as the “elders” will be somewhat embarrassed by the thought of any special recognition. None have ever seemed to flaunt their knowledge, but offered it gladly, simply because it was relevant. They have also been quick to drift slightly from “Cabin Only Content” whenever a Blogger’s post signaled a need of some encouragement or relief from their daily journey. The posts have all been exceptional. I extend a most sincere THANK YOU to each and every “off-site building team” member ---- you have taken my hand, opened my mind, and touched my soul. As I see it, you all deserve to be in the Spotlight, and applauded for your contributions to one of the most exceptional Homebuilding and Remodeling Blog experiences on the internet to date. As you present all the comments to the Scripps Network and the DIY Blog Cabin Program Designers, I sincerely hope you will add the thoughts of an interested observer to the mix: The 2008 Blog Cabin experience is truly an unprecedented exchange of ideas and values among a group that enlightened and inspired with every post. The winner and subsequent owners of the dwelling should know the WHOLE history of this grand build and of the ALL the people who contributed to the loving spirit that will forever reside within. Thank You Watson Hawkins for considering the relevance of this post.”

So often there are dedications of shows for those views don't know. And...as a viewer, I never think anything of it...except ... how thoughtful! This appears to be one of those occasions”.
53. Posted by: Heading South at June 23, 2008 4:31 PM: “B.J. Thank you for your post on behave of our Cabincraver2008. Even though you have not posted as regularly as alot of the blogging family "off site building team", you have taken the time to read and be with us in spirit with this wonderful Blog Cabin project. Reading the subjective and objective comments are so interesting. With each new option for the Blog Cabin, it amazes me how two people can look at the same thing and see it differently. What a joy it is to learn from each other. With that said, you are most certainly in my books, a part of this blogging family, carrying with you a desire for a dedication for Cabincraver2008. So I would like to thank you for your contribution in this endeavor. With life's daily challenges that surrounds each and every one of us, it is good to live in the moment and smell the roses as some may say. So many people think anxiously about the future; and forget the present. Cabincraver2008 is forever present with us in thought and prayer. Again B.J. my sincere thanks, and perhaps with your post DIY, Watson, Scripps Network will consider this desire that we all have. “

I share in the feelings expressed by Helen Miko in her post to you earlier today --- you most definitely should consider yourself as being included as one of the 2008 Blog Cabin ‘off-site building team’ family. (Thank you so much Helen, for putting into words what many were feeling after reading B.J’s comments) While I do not post often either, I always find the entire “off-site building team” family to be most gracious in their responses to my questions or comments. Without a doubt, it is the generosity of spirit, especially expressed by the ‘elders’, that has made me feel I am truly part of the team effort, too! I have never felt judged by my lack of quantity of posts, but I have always felt appreciated for the quality of material I offered. B.J. -- Your post was both poignant and thought provoking. Thank you for choosing today to express your views and observations so eloquently. I hope Watson will respond to your post and present a copy of it to the Scripps Network as they consider dedication options for Cabincraver, and, perhaps now, because of you, a dedication plaque that commemorates the role of the “2008 off-site building team” in this, one of the best building projects in DIY’s history.”

Maybe someone with DIY can backtrack on cabincravers e-address to get her home community or get her real name. Then we could do white pages or check newspaper listings to see if we could find out how she is doing. We may find she already has a CaringBridge page or something. Or someone at DIY could just send her a direct e-mail to see if someone at her home will respond.

I want everyone to know that I view this project as an "off-site building team" family endeavor and, while I appreciate the kind words that have been written to me, it is truly "our idea" not mine --- I just happened to be the one who put it in a post before someone else did ---- EVERYONE who has posted a comment concerning Cabincraver (or felt a tug whenever they think of her) CREATES the ENERGY that will get this idea noticed by the Scripps Network and RIVR, and the 2008 Blog Cabin DIY Program Planners. Watson: Not that any of us picture you as a computer geek --- more in terms of our mystery man with more tricks up his sleeve than James Bond --- but LindaL does bring up a very good point when she suggests tracking Cabincraver down may be possible. Perhaps you all at DIY (by you all, I am of course refering to you,Watson, our talented computer savvy guy in the know) could let us in on your progress in locating Cabincraver or her daughter, Erika. I found a posting of Cabincraver2008 for January 27, 2008. There she stated her name as Sara J Parsons, from Tulsa, Oklahoma 74135. With that said we all need to remember that there are privacy issues that I am sure we all would want to respect. I just noticed several bloggers wanting any information on her. Cabincraver2008 had changed her blogging name because there was another Sara on the blog and she didn't want any mix up.

Perhaps I am confusing her daughter, Erika's location with her mother's home state, or perhaps, she was being treated at one of the hospitals in Dallas. Does anyone recall a reference to Dallas in a post from either of them???? Also, I will look at the Caring Bridge website and see if there is a listing for a Sara J Parson. Thanks again for passing on this information, Heading South. That was so great of you to go through all the posts to come across the comment from so long ago .... such a wonderful thing to do!”

I do hope and pray that she is well. I would like my name added to the list of bloggers wanting a dedication for her on the show. My mother passed away from colon cancer in 04 and one of her last requests was that my brother and I perform random acts of kindness on a regular basis to strangers in her honor "pay it forward". In her obit we requested in lieu of flowers that everyone honor her request. We received a huge response from so many people and still to this day hear from friends and family on how they paid it forward. This blogging family is a wonderful example of "paying it forward" with their love, prayers and requests for someone they know only in blogs. Keep it up...compassion is a wonderful thing....receiving or giving.”

We all are together in spirit and in mind of friends to set a dedication to Cabincraver2008's strenght, and spirit while she's battling this raging storm inside her body. With all the despair of this terrible illness, yet she gathered enough strenght to contribute all along, and wanting to listen to all of our opinions. If anyone deserves thanks is A.Muse with all her poems, stories, her taking the time to post important encouraging entries for Cabincraver2008, and posting everyone who was missing Cabincraver2008 and wanting this dedication. I also found a post in which Erika mentioned that her mother has been involved in Interior Design/Building for 25 years, so PARSONS may be Mike's last name, but it could also be her maiden name that she uses for business and correspondence purposes. There is no listing in the Tulsa white pages (phone book) for Mike and Sara Parsons. One other thing to report on ... I checked the online website of The Tulsa World Newspaper ---- and the good news is no Death Notice in the data base for "Sara J. Parsons" came up in a search from May through June 30th. I hope no one will be offended by this portion of the post, but it was one thing we all have been wondering about, I think. I hope that posting that there was no listing in the Tulsa Paper will be some comfort to all of us in her extended family here on the Blog. One other point to note, Cabincraver did make mention that Erika has some medical issues, too, and that may be the reason we have not had an update from either of them for so long. Hoping someone in the "off-site building team" family will find this information helpful and know how to use it to contact Cabincraver or Erika or Mike. Thanks again to all here who have encouraged me to post, one more time.”

ANYONE who has been thinking about adding their comment about some sort of dedication or rememberance to Cabincraver but haven't done so as of yet, please take the time to type in something today, so that your voice will be heard by the 'Powers that Be', before the first episode is completed for airing in August.”

These blogs & chats are open to anyone with access to a computer and we must be careful giving out personal information. I realize everyone wants to write or call Cabincraver but all I'm asking is that it be done properly, we don't need some whacko's making more problems for this family. Clive and I had a chat awhile back and he opened my eyes to a lot of dangers out there on the internet so, please everyone, let's think this through as a group. I suggest that maybe just a "Thinking of You" or "Missing You" card with A.Muse's original poem enclosed and updated with everyone's names. The family might not have the time to read all the blogs right now but the original poem was awesome. How do the rest of you feel? I realize A.Muse's original poem was all about blogging but that's what Cabincraver loved to do, why not dedicate the poem to her, update the names, put it in one of the above mentioned cards and let it be signed by the poet, A.Muse, but sent with love and concern from all of us? For my Buddies - thanks so much for defending me, you guys are the best of the best.A.Muse - hopefully you are agreeable to my suggestion of your poem, we all loved it and I thought it was wonderful and I'm sure Cabincraver would agree. Then, if we hear from her family, you could send her ALL the blogs you've been so kind to keep up on. I've never had the pleasure of getting to know Cabincraver as much as some of you have but I think one beautiful card, with the poem sent with love from everyone would be great but it's up to all of you to agree or disagree and one person to do it. HS - you have made me so proud to be your friend, you had this info and I know how hard it was for you not to blurt it all out. You thought long and hard about it before posting, knowing how much everyone wanted info and spent numerous hours going through hundreds and hundreds of blogs, it's no wonder we all love you. Hi Betty (July 14th) .... Sorry.... I know the 4th post is very long, and, if you read the other area, you know it actually wasn't complete and I asked Watson to remove it and replace it with the corrected version (GULP!). I won't be posting anymore updates (repeats), unless we hear from Cabincraver 2008 and then I will post just once more (I PROMISE!) but only with any comments to her after the 125th one. That is: I will start the update at #126,because I will have collected all of them until they stop appearing.
Again, I do apologize to you for the length of the repeat posts, but it seemed the right thing to do on the off chance that Cabincraver or Erika checked in on the day of publishing an update ---- Please do not get discouraged and stop reading the fine posts of everyone else. From now on, just start at the bottom of the comment posts page and you will quickly see the poster's name listed and you can skip anything signed off by me---just scroll right past it. You are part of this little family, Betty, your comments appreciated, and you would be missed if you stopped communicating!

Thank You Watson for the quick reply. Must have caught you on one of your energizer days. I think it is probably the video card as it is about 4 yrs old. but here are the specs.515 Pent4, 512mb ram,Intel media accelerator 900, 128mb video memory. Well, it appears you have a ton of work to do today so I won't keep you. Our I am certain our diehard BC OCD family will be looking forward to any and all video clips or slide shows with baited breath. As for me, I think I am part of the sequel to the series. BC Dieharder OCD club.
Mary S,
Thank You again ! I think there are a few of us who are already waiting for word about the next years Cabin. Some I doubt want to be written off from that one yet. I will be one of those. I know what you mean though about not knowing each other if ever we passed by. I am so oblivious to even walk by those I have known for years at times. I would like to say it is from always being in thought but fact is, There isn't a whole lot going on up there in the attic these days. It would be a blast to meet everyone here though. If we win it is BYOP Bring Your Own Pizza. That would be the entrance fee. Then we can all share our favorite pizzas and get some good use from that oven out pizza oven out back . First place in the taste contest gets to stay there for two weeks. Now that's motivation isn't it?

Kathy D from CT--
Where in CT are you from??!!! I lived in CT all of my life until a year ago April when we moved down here to TN. I lived in New Haven all of my life-- in the East Rock section. Matt grew up in Shelton, and lived there until we got together and got married. I don't remember seeing you on the blog before-- are you new here? If so-- welcome! If you should win the blog home-- gas is a LOT cheaper here!! (So is auto & house insurance, taxes, registration, electricity ...)
I know I've been quiet-- but it's been really busy here. My friend Pam has her 2 granddaughters visiting here from California. It has been one kid's thing after another since they arrived last Wednesday. (It was because of a pool party get together that I missed Sheila's call and missed meeting her on Friday. I was so bummed!!! ) Today, I was watching one of my friend's daughters while they were at work, as her camp has a teacher inservice. So Katie, and the 3 girls were in the lake by 11 a.m.. I just moved a comfy chair, some lemonade, my cd player, and my Eagles cd down to the dock and kept watch over the girls. I just got back in a short time ago.
I hope everyone else had a good weekend.

I live to see the changes and additions to the Cabin! I suppose I'll just look at the beautiful stain and wait! Not long before the show begins! Is that a drum roll I hear! Or is it my excited heart?

The stain is perfect - I love how it looks - I think we made the right choice. I'm very excited about the start of the show - calendar is all marked with my own count down!! Good luck everybody!!

Watson and DIY Team,
You're not kidding - the slides were WHITE HOT! So bright, I had to wear shades!! Does anyone know the sale prices of the homes in Lakefront Estates? Just curious.... Thanks.
Watson: Hello B.J., I know for a fact that if you followed the links from our Blog Cabin "Central" page, the folks at Lakefront Estates would love to supply you with that info!
Posted by: B.J. Evans at July 15, 2008 9:02 AM
I love this cabin! I love the wrap around decks, they are awesome. I know some would like access to ground level off decks but I must confess, I like it just as it is. I have a deck now with no access to ground level and I just love the security of it. I come out at night and enjoy the stars in my pj's at any hour and feel totally secure in the space. It is totally a space for enjoying as an extension of the inside space. I feel this in the decks of the cabin. There is outdoor space at ground level to enjoy from the perspective of attachment to the land outside of the "man cave", for a different feel and a different purpose. Well done, in my humble opinion.
Ahmed: Please create a space for a stand of trees near the home, replacing some that had to be taken away. This would be another great space to enjoy, I can see the children using it for their space and imagination, as well as the birds and their morning songs! Thanks! May the wind be at your back!

Thanks our dear Watson,
I got a little too excited, (impatient) worried about the cabin cam, Thought we wouldn't see the house progress for a while! I'll live though!
Amuse, Thanks so much for your hard work for Cabin craver! God bless your dear heart and God bless our Cabincraver.
Cabincraver, I have a feeling( & I'm praying) you are ok. You have a contagious and fighting spirit in you, I just know! From your blogs you wrote! You keep feeling better dear blogging friend. I hope we do hear from you somehow someway and someday soon! I know this outpouring of offered support & love could be a bit overwhelming. But just know we bloggers really do care about you. And meant no harm in overstepping your privacy, if this became to personal for you. We care about you very much!
PLEASE! Put our minds to ease that you are ok, please? A simple: I'm ok! is all we want. And you just keep resting and healing in the Lord. Your healing is all that really matters to us! I pray when we finally do hear from you or Erika or someone that knows you, that it will be praises of joy that you are doing better! Your friend in Christ, Carrie

Hey Indaskys
Guess what! I went to hgtv and there was a post dated july 11 from kwalters where o where will the 2009 green home be? So it looks like there will be GH 2 in 2009! So here's your chance for the green dream home you really want! But unfortunately that was the only info the question and it looked like they had a message board set up. Just Thought you might like the opportunity to get on board with that project from the beginning. Since Blog Cabin didn't meet your green needs in a dream home. GH give away will! Good luck!
And hgtv dream home fans they also have the floor plans and artist rendering of the 2009 dream home presently being built in Sonoma CA & a link someone posted to a newspaper article of the home as well. It's a craftman styled farmhouse if you want to live in the Ca area this is the one for you! Good luck to you 2!

To: BlognBob!....BlognBob!...BlognBob!
(And so many others who have been curious)
SOME POSITIVE NEWS FOR ALL TODAY:
I received word via a friend (who obtained written confirmation from a qualified representative of Lakefront Estates) that: The flying of the United States and other flags are certainly permitted on home sites in Lakefront Estates! In fact, my friend went on to say he was told: “.....a normal-sized residential flag - particularly U.S.- would be allowed/welcomed in Lakefront Estates”.
..... I know I promised to get a definitive answer on the subject when the questions and concerns first appeared weeks and weeks ago. I am so happy to finally supply a very positive update on the subject of flag display at Lakefront Estates....I so appreciate everyone’s patience.
It seems that the restrictions as written in the R & C, only say that flagpoles may not be placed on a lot without prior approval and it was added because there was a case (in Tennessee, I believe) where a resident placed a large, Commercial Sized Pole in the middle of his front yard. It was a very upscale neighborhood and the neighbors sued to get him to take down the commercial sized pole, but because that specific issue was not addressed in the Covenants, they lost.
So.... I am thinking, unless, you received the package back as undeliverable because no mail delivery is set up for that address as of yet, that your gift on July 4th may just still be sitting at the Post Office, waiting for the Winner to start mail delivery!
Oh.... and last but by no means least: Glad to hear that it appears your daughter and the baby are out of harm’s way.

A. Muse .... Saw your post on the other page, but, if that is the new post above, it still looks imcomplete. Did you notice? It is amazing that there are almost double the amount from the time before. Let's hope Cabincraver and her family are feeling the strength of all the good thoughts, wishes and prayers said on her behalf.

Hi A. Muse! I understand where you are coming from, I really do. Maybe it's just my brain that gets too easily distracted when reading a long list of anything. I do try to scroll down to the bottom of the posts and read up, but typical me, I have to find where I left off and read IN ORDER! I may just have to talk myself out of that habit and start from the bottom and work my way up.
I wonder if it is possible for Watson or Ahmed to number the responses as they post them... ;-) Okay guys, I'm just teasing. I'm not asking you to do any MORE work! And thank you for all you have been doing. Working on the cabin must be terrible in this heat. Ohhh, maybe that's my brain problem. This triple digit California heat has fried my brain on more than one occasion! Take care everyone! ~Betty~

Keight,
Thank You so very much for your research and finding that information on displaying our American Flag at Lakefront Estates. You are ever so good at finding this sort of information. No pkg. back yet. And no notices as to its receipt yet either.
Now, back to business...What ever happened to that Canoe in a box? Thought we forgot about that huh? Is that the same canoe that was in the cam awhile back? Is there Assembly required or some healthy lungs?
The wall and the house look spectacular. I imagine at the rate of production you guys are working at that the back yard is either complete or so close to it that the indoors are running near completion as well. After all August 14th isn't that far away. And I know it is always nice to have things completed well in advance so you can make finishing touches. That being said, I can see the streetside grounds probably just about ready to be attacked with all fury. That and a very long driveway.
Ahmed and Crew, good luck this next few weeks ! Looks like your work is cut out for you.

To: Betty Wilcox .... Hi! Thanks for your post back ... your kindness and gracious spirit is what makes this space so enjoyable. Oh, and I had an idea ~ You may already have thought of this, but, something that works for me --- I usually keep a pad of paper by the computer and jot down the date and the Time Stamp of the last update I read – then when I log back on, I can just scroll down to that entry. I don’t want to miss anyone’s post to Cabincraver so I started keeping track this way, and it is a big help as the comment list gets longer and longer.
Keight: Yes... I did notice that #125 is incomplete and the notation that the comments posted had been shortened from their original length did not make it into print, either. I still worry that someone will be concerned that their original post isn’t there, but I made the decision to limit the content to thoughts and wishes directly related to Cabincraver, although all the other information is very important, too, of course.
BlognBob: Great news about flying a flag at the home site! Keight’s logical deduction of where your package may be really helps and (based upon USPS rules) is a sound explanation as to why your gift may not have been displayed on the 4th. (You are always helping us with the BIG PICTURE, Keight –Thanks) I sure do hope it turns out to be the case. I think your housewarming package, once delivered, will be a grand first piece of mail for the Winner to find in their mailbox!
Hot Tub? Ok.... go to the slideshow: Landscaping Update – Ahmed Is Getting It Done. Go to the very last picture #25. Sure does look like a Hot Tub being shielded by a screen from lakeview. What do you all think?
Carrie Miracle: Yep ... looks like a fun loving “spirit” of some sort on the front porch ... amazing how the crew has kept their sense of humor and found time for a wee bit of silliness while dealing with their tight schedule plus the heat! Or maybe it is all The Heat that is bringing out the silliness (WINK) --- Please remember to keep drinking WATER throughout your workday! A wee bit of silliness is fine, but we sure don't want any of you keeling over out there due to the temperatures!

Hello Fellow Bloggers
Watson, so thankful that the cabin cam is working!
Carrie Miracle, what you wrote about Cabincaver when soooo beautiful. I want to thank you for putting into words how we all feel. It really touch my heart and soul.
Heading South, I had missed the stone on the wall and after reading your blog I went back and it is wonderful. I was really worried about it but it just blends with the Log Home now. Thanks guys, great job! The stain and everything has just come together so great. I check the cabin cam, watch the slide shows, videos and I can almost smell the flowers, lake and feel the wind and warm sun. This is such a great place. It's like a little bit of heaven on earth. The picture of the fire pit looking out on the water just takes my breath away yet it is so peaceful. I can't explain the feelings I get from just looking at everything and I have not even been there yet! Soon I will get to ride down and see this wonderful piece of work and I can not wait. I know that I am driving Johnny crazy trying to wait. Pray for him, that I don't drive him over the edge. I think he is beginning to worry about me.
I guess that is it for tonight I still have to water my flowers and ect. here in my piece of heaven.

Hi all! I took a buzz over to the blog home today. The retaining wall looks so very pretty now with the rocks. I should've had more faith that Ahmed wouldn't leave it looking like that, with just the gray cement. Sorry Ahmed!
Katie is a social butterfly today too. Tonight she's at a sleepover at my friend Pam's with her granddaughters. Tomorrow she goes to see the Lost Sea in Sweetwater with them, and tomorrow night, she goes with Ken and the girls camping on one of the islands on the lake. She will be so upset when the girls go back to California.
As for me-- I'm a bit nervous, as I have to see the Orthopedic surgeon tomorrow about my hip. I know it's getting worse. (which is why I didn't get out of the car today to investigate the back of the Blog home) So keep me in your prayers for a good outcome. I'm afraid he'll tell me we have run out of options other than hip replacement surgery. I'm only 48-- I'm too young for that!!! I'll let you guys know how I make out.
Jimmy-- Don't forget to look us up when you come into town. Sweetwater is only about a 1/2 hour ride from here down Rte. 68.

Carrie Miracle: Thanks and we will definitely heed your suggestions!
BlognBob ~ Yes sir those things are addctive. Anything with Shrimp gets my attention. Shrimp and Bacon --- even better! Might need to try throwing some bacon on top next time...sure couldn't hurt, in my book!
Misty ... Added a recipe on the previous posting area .... Oh, and in case anyone is curious....I have NO IDEA why I wrote Sars's Mother, Beth into the recipe post .... Maybe just a bit more blurry eyed tired than I thought! Beth is one of those mother-in-laws that are a rarity, I have been told. She really makes me feel I am doing a great job as a husband and, now a Daddy. I count my blessings everyday, believe me! Anyway, the suggestion about draining the salsa was Sara's idea to improve upon the recipe after a couple of sloppy batches....delicious but sloppy! Give the recipe a try, and let us know if you think they are book worthy!

Hi all! Well, I'm back from the Orthopedic doctor. He took some x-rays, and looked at them & said to me-- You have been having problems with this hip for a LONG time. I can't believe this is the 1st time you've seen me for it. (My mother had osteo and rheumatoid arthritis, and so do I.) What I like about this doctor is that even though he is a surgeon, he doesn't operate unless there are no other options. He gave me a injection of steroids into my hip socket. (Boy-- did that hurt! But, not as bad as when I had the steroids in my foot about 15 years ago.) I have to go back in a month-- if this works-- HURRAY! If not, then I have to have my hip replaced. Between moving my hip in positions it did NOT want to go in with the x-rays, and then the needle into the hip joint itself-- right now, my hip is singing!!
Those of you that pray-- please pray that the steroids work, and I don't have to have my hip replaced!
Love, Helen

Here is a poem that will remind all that death is not the end:
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints in snow,
I am the sunlight and ripened grain.
I am the gentle Autumn rain.
When you awake in the morning hush,
I am the swift upflinging rush
of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die.

ehmagawd...... this cabin is amazing. i am only 12 years old and looking at this cabin makes me very excited. i wonder if there will be a virtual tour available when the cabin is completed. I also cant wait to see the beautiful hgtv dream home 2009. The blueprints for that look amazing. I love the location of the cabin... Watts Bar Lake is so beautiful. i could just picture long summer days on the lake in a canoe or kayak, maybe even a sail/motor boat. i would love to win the cabin but because i do not know the tax rate in tennessee i do not know how much the cabin would end up costing us. My estimated price for this cabin is around 750,000 to 800,000. The floor plans are a perfect summer home and then possibly later... a retierment home for my parents. The downstairs master would obviously belong to my parents while the two upstairs bedrooms would be mine and my brothers. Also the lowere level media room is ideal for parties and sleepovers. This cabin would be a dream come true. Thank you Ahmed and the whole diy crew for making such a beatiful home. I would also love to make friends with tennesseeians and i would also love to take friends there during the summer. it would be a long drive from Glenview IL but it would be well worth it. i have been to tennessee twice and i love it there. All the geographical features are so amazing!!!! All i can do now though is wait for them to finish and then enter every day, and then pray to god every night that they will pick us.

I can't wait until Aug. 14 too! What fun it will be to watch the Blog Cabin Series as we follow Serenity Shores from when it was "just a twinkle in Scripps Network's eye" through to it's completion, knowing that we were a part of it too!
Everyone is doing such a great job!

I have not been around for a while and was very surprised to see the progress. The place looks more like a lakeside estate than a cabin. It is going to be just awesome place when it is finished.
I am with jemma, what happened to the canoe? I am curious because I like what was done with the old water-skis. You guys have been very creative and I just love the maple cutting board. I think I like almost every thing except in my opinion the bamboo floor kind of clashes with the other wood and I would prefer orange and white furniture in the man cave over red.
Keep up the good work, it was a joy visiting today.

Hi …..
It is a beautiful day here on Watts Bar, Spring City TN, so we took a walk over to see what all has happened in the last week or so. On our way we saw the two deer – mother and her young.
Lake Front Estates on Watts Bar is in the process of clearing land and putting in the foot print for two more homes with beautiful views of Watts Bar – yes they were working today so it should not be long before the footings are in.
Then we walked over to see the Log Cabin - - the staining is almost complete on the outside of the house. The large deck area, with its beautiful beams, looks spectacular with the staining complete as it makes the fireplace stand out even more. Light fixtures are now up at the front door and other door ways around the house. The stone on the house has been completed and they are working to complete the stone on the retaining walls by the garage and in the outdoor kitchen area (yes it matches the other stone work). It really completes the look of the house.
Insulation has been put into all the interior walls of the house, bedrooms, bathrooms and anyplace else you can think of. The sub-flooring is down on the second floor and you can see exactly how the two upstairs bedrooms and the loft area will look. Would not be surprised if all the dry walls are up by this time next week.
It has really been neat to watch this house grow from day one and is really something to see – will now be interesting to watch the show when it airs.
Oh …… Ahmed, your watering system for the garden and plantings that you put in is not working ….. so the garden area is really drying out as we have not had much rain of late. It appears as if someone has disconnected it …….
Sally – Retired in Tennessee
P.S. The two houses that were sold at Lake Front Estates were listed in the mid 700 thousand.

Watson-
I'm usually a pretty patient person-- but this is getting ridiculous. The Blog hasn't been updated since Wednesday the 16th!!! And, here it is the 20th!!! What's up? Are you ill? Or, maybe vacation?
Watson: Hello Helen - yes, guilty as charged - I left on a short 4-day whirlwind vacation - a true road trip - stops in Indianapolis, Chicago and Cincinnati, arriving back home yesterday afternoon. I apologize to everyone for my absence. Thanks!

HELLO!!!!!!!
I Miss you all! It's been a while on blog updates! Missed u2 Watson! I guess you are getting us a big surprise ready for the next update! Hope you all are having fun! I'm really looking forward to the 360 tour coming and the series starting. Good Luck everybody!

Hi Watson,
We all need a some vacation time or time away from the usual to gain a new perspective of things, or just to re-energize ourselves by getting away from the daily grind. Wow, that was some trip! Did you go to the top of the Sears tower in Chicago? That is fun! I hope you had the best of time whatever you did.
Watson: Hello, BlognBob - Pitchfork Festival in Chicago, along with some deep-dish pizza, a beer garden and Italian restaurant in Indianapolis (just a stopover) and Reds/Mets game in Cincinnati - 1100 miles round trip!
I am a little late in posting having been keeping myself occupied over the week. I and our family have been saying prayers for Misty&Rich and Helen. They are both going thru difficult times and could also use our prayers.
The BBLH looks outstanding. It is good to see some new plantings in the front grounds area. And there is something big going too it appears. It will be fun to see the Streetside landscaping thru the cam. Been looking forward to that for quite some time.
Best of everything to all my blogging friends. I hope you are having the best summer and vacation times of your lives.
Posted by: BlognBob at July 21, 2008 11:26 AM
Hi All, Watson-see how much you are missed when you are gone? Sounds like you had a good time!
Watson: Hello Gail, ya'll just love me for my blog refreshes;^)
Helen- I hope the steroids do work for your hip pain. As a nurse at a nationally ranked hospital for joint replacement, I can tell you that we are seeing people have hips and knees replaced at an earlier age. That is due in part to the fact that the newer replacement joints last longer than they used to, and the technology and care improvements mean that we see better outcomes, a shorter recovery time and fewer complications than we have in the past. Also, people are more active and living longer, so the expectation that a patient will just have to wait it out until they absolutely cannot stand the pain and disability any longer is considered archaic and obsolete. They are even making some joints gender specific, meaning they account for the structure of our womanly hips, pelvis and knees as we were created differently, if still "equally"! So if the injections don't work, (and I hope they do), I am sure you will feel better after you read about the new advances in joint replacement surgery. Also, should you need surgery, I would recommend researching surgeons and hospitals before you chose where to have your surgery. You may even need to change physicians, as uncomfortable as that may be.
Hope everyone has a great week!
Gail

Hi all! While the steroids are still working (to an extent-- but, not as good as it was Saturday) Katie and I went to see the Blog home today. The stain looks absolutely gorgeous on the home. It seems to me that parts of the irrigation system are working, and other parts are clogged. I'm not too surprised about that. We have that same problem with our sprinklers. Since we are watering from the lake, sometimes some sediment from the lake gets in the lines and clogs up the holes. What we do is to use a cake tester that you can buy at almost any store. We just put the tester through the clogged holes to unclog them, and everything works great. There is also some kind of filter we put on our hoses to help with that as well. I'm sure there's something you can use for your irrigation system as well. I agree with Sally-- something has to be done about that soon, as a couple of the plants already look dead where the water isn't getting to them, and it's in the high 90's today and tomorrow.
They are also digging a big hole from the street all the way down to the house. If my guess is correct, they are going to put those big pipes in there underground, to let the water flow down the driveway, without it getting to the house. (Everyone has those in the front of their driveways around here.) And, I absolutely love how they have the partition between the jacuzzi (4 person?) and the lake. So, if the new owners are feeling a bit risque, and want to go in the jacuzzi sans clothes, nobody will be the wiser. (Hey, my hip may be on it's way out, but, I'm not dead.) LOL
There were some guys inside the home putting up sheet rock when we were there. They were nice enough to let Katie and I take a look inside. It is really nice inside. I felt much better about the kitchen once I saw it in person. The blue isn't quite as dark as the pics of it look. With the silver brick-looking backsplash over the stove, it really looks nice. I didn't do too much looking upstairs, as the loft as of yet, has no banister around it-- and I have a thing about heights.
I really didn't venture into the mancave as the guys were working and I didn't want to get in their way.
So, I figure if I do have to have my hip replaced in the near future, at least I saw the inside once. One never knows who will win the house, and if they want a nosey neighbor over.

Watson ,
(Not just a blog refresher)
You know Watson, You are a good friend to many of us on this site. (Of course not directly affiliated until immediately following the announcement of the winner) And we do truly care for you as much more than one who simply refreshes our blog and creates such wonderful slide shows and vlogs, bringing true character to our offsite family.
Yes, we BG&C often, but truly care for you as a good good friend to us.
(Again not directly affiliated until immediately following the announcement of the winner.)
Watson: Ya'll are very sweet.
I am just kidding of course ! Thank You so much for being with us thru thick and thin. Thru mud and muck, Mounds of Sawdust, Thru piles of overfilled dumpsters,Thru long exhausting days of filming and setting up our site, Thru scrapes and tree scrapes, Thru brief moments or maybe even extended moments of insanity. Thru some rather nasty blogs that we never see because you kindly filter them out for us, Thru all this time day after day, week after week of reading thru countless and seemingly never ending blogs. For tolerating some very to the point issues. And for tolerating the just plain Fluff. And finally for tolerating US, the diehards and holdouts who keep you going when you are probably on the verge of exhaustion.
Thank You Watson ! You are truly a good friend!
(With of course no direct affiliations delcared until immediately following the giveaway) ;-)
Helen,
Thank You again for the insight to the new goings on. It's comforting to me to know they are taking the drainage issue very seriously. It is also quite fun knowing there will be a Jacuzzi.
