Hi Superfans! I, too, am counting the minutes until the first design challenge! I am so excited there are so many of us Design Star lovers out there!
By the way, I wll be blogging Sunday night during the show or immediately after. I can't wait to hear what you all think about the designers and their work! I appreciate what you all have been saying about not judging a book by its cover! That is so true! And, I think that is half the fun of Design Star! (And life!)
Did you all notice the new Online Content that is starting Sunday, the 29th? We will be able to get design tips from Vern. (awesome!) We will be able to rate the designers' work! (this sounds fun to me!) And, there will be a 2 minute recap of the episode and extended exit interviews, (not seen on t.v.), with the eliminated contestant on "Design Rewind!" (Drama moment!) All this PLUS the blog? This is Design Star Nirvana!
Be the first to comment! Enter your comment in the form below.
So glad Vern will be on the blog to answer some of the everyday watchers , and give advice on their makeovers, HUMMM maybe someone really does read all the suggestions sent to HGTV THANKS!

Love the show! However, I was truly happy to see Robb's show finally get cancelled...it was long over-due. Robb does have talent, but he was too arrogant, too condescending and too nasty! Had he won, I would NEVER have watched his show, and I would never have watched DesignStar again either. Kim, I absolutely adore your designs... keep representing and rocking girlfriend! Will, you do a really good job as a designer..just step it up personality-wise.

I just went back and watched the 1st season (available on this site - right on your computer!) The last 3-4 weeks made me smile all over again. The way those folks treated each other is an inspiration.
This season is another story. All the unpleasantness has spoiled it for me, but the silver lining in this cloud is already in sight. I'm so looking forward to Sunday night.... 10pm EST!!! Can't wait for Vern's show. His designs are always amazing. If I could have anyone on the planet Earth walk in my house & give me tips, I would wish for Vern. Hats off to HGTV, and thanks.

In the show Design Star this Sunday the stakes are high. I not being judgemental but let's face the facts the are a limited of A. Americans who are in this industry. Talent when it do comes around it should be judge accordingly. I love everything about designing. Maybe one day I will get my chance to shine as well. Sometimes it is hard to work under pressure, that doesn't mean that people isn't talent. Remember everyone that host their own show had to start somewhere. If there were people in their shoes they will be more sympathetic toward others. I want to say good luck to the remaing contestants. May God bless you all.

The designers of this season are of a different calibur...no offense David Bromstad. These designers continue to amaze every episode. I am briming with anticipation for the next episode, about five minutes after one goes off. I am HOOKED! My hat is off to the judges...no way I could choose to eliminate such talent....you guys have a really hard job! So far my favorite is "sparkle Josh". He is very talented and has LOTS of personality.

I am from TN also and I think "sparkle josh" ROCKS!!!!

Design Star is such a great draw - I'm a designer and everywhere I go people are talking about it in detail. But people notice the interplay between the characters more than they notice the quality of work each designer produces and the intensity of the challenge needed to focus and manifest in the "team" setting. But I have to tell you. Once Robb was allowed to stay, I felt that Design Star is formulaeic. After enduring the last show with the Design Barbie getting into catfights and then crying for the masses, I almost wanted to puke when the A@@H@@@@ Robb was left standing. PLEASE don't draw this out. Your audience may be infatuated with the show, but you do designers everywhere a HUGE disservice by not educating your audience on the relevance of the process of D-E-S-I-G-N and how important it is not to just throw something together and then pretty it up. Customers depend on the process without really understanding that it is NOT the pretty stuff that has to be managed first. Function and real life parameters HAVE to be the priority. Get rid of the dogfights and let some real designer interplay surface. Now THAT could be interesting. Kill off Robb - he's an immature egoist who couldn't draw ratings anyway. So he can paint rocks. Big deal. Otherwise there is some real potential -

I just think the show is very exciting but it seems "staged" in some ways. Not too much time is given for the "stars" to complete their given chores. No kitchen can be remodeled in such a short time and still look professional. Where did you pick up some of these loonies? I guessed correctly just who was going to be kicked off so far. Lisa designed some beautiful restaurants in Berwick, PA but what happened to her on the show was criminal. She went off the deep end. Looking forward to see who makes it. David Bromstad is terrific!!!

I have to agree with two posts..um about the "loud mouth" I'm hoping you are talking about ROBB. Someone needs to think about closing their mouth and opening their ears. What an ego fueled attitude. Hated to see Lisa go. I think Will is going to be a force to be reckoned with....Didn't say much this episode, but did you see the bedroom. Very smart. Good attitude working with people too....not like "loud-mouth". I think we'll see more of Will than we will of Mr. Robb.....

I love your show,it is so exciting to watch, ebony and Ivory were exquisite.
I predict the loud mouth who is so rude to everyone will be next to leave. You cannot treat anyone the way this man does and stay in business. He talks about everyone and what idiots they are ? Yet I have yet to see anything great from him?

Just a thought - does anyone remember that most of the competition is "over" by the time it is aired? I know lots of people wanted another result from the first show, but, by this time, they are already on the next to last episodes. I wonder who is left, in "real time" that is. Even so, I will be watching every week to see what happened.

Enjoyed the show and while I didn't like Lisa's "design"--I think that it wasn't any worse than what Neeraja did. For someone who thinks she is so fantastic, she just comes across as being rude, demanding and not at all capable of working together with anyone. How hard is it to find barstools in Las Vegas? If you are up against a deadline, you find something and make it work. It didn't look like she was much interested in anything other than having control of the money.
I think Robb and Josh did a terrible job--was surprised Robb wasn't sent home--not much design with a bunch of pillows and the two didn't seem to work together well at all. Josh "Green" does not seem to be that much of a builder from what I saw and they didn't use their time well.
Vern's comments were right on target to Christina and Andriana--Christina needs to stand up for herself. I hate to think what might happen if she pairs with Neeraja as Neeraja has already promised to mow down anyone who gets in her way.
Josh "Sparkle" and Will did a great job on their room and Kim and Scott and Todd did well too. I was surprised the judges were so accepting of the "skateboard" track--guess a little comic relief helps. Next week should be interesting--the preview showed some tempers flaring--we'll see who comes out on top and who hears the dreaded "your show has been canceled."

i watched the show tonite. i was disappointed on your choice of elimination. this girl gave her design and said it was a walk through. the girl that should have went was the one that just changed the lightbulbs and half painted the space.come on. she used excuses also. i think you made a mistake.

Just watched the show and don't you know the last five minutes when they went to the green room to wait my DISH NETWORK lost its satellite signal!!! I think the blonde/brown head may have lost her show! Or the guy with all the pillows! I guess I will find out tomorrow!
