Design Star

It's Getting Hot In Here

Posted by Design Star Blogger – August 15, 2007 10:16 PM

Hi Superfans! Just in case you really think that Will doesn't like Robb...check out the Exclusive Episode 3 Videos! The video "Bonding Moments" shows Will, Robb and Adriana talking. I think our Design Stars all really like each other and the people editing this show are just having so much fun with us! What do you think?

Also, I noticed that, (correct me if I'm wrong), Kim, Todd, and possibly Adriana, used those little pop up lights in their rooms! (the lights that Robb hoarded) Do you think Robb shared? Or do you think the other designers found some of the lights that Robb had missed? Hmmm...

I just want to tell you that I have so much fun reading your posts! And...I am noticing a trend starting! I think that some of these designers are starting to be appreciated for more than just their fabulous design skills! Here are just a few excerpts....

"...I am an 87 (year old) Northeastern housewife. I am addicted to Design Star. I think that Todd is just soooo hot, but can someone tell me what eye candy is & where I can get some please!!!" Posted by pl – August 14, 2007 2:25 PM

"...I think Robb rocks! I know most of you don't like him but I do. I'm not crazy about his personality but his design was very good, he's cute, he's sexy and I'd rather see him with his shirt off then Todd... " Posted by Dee Dee Cee – August 14, 2007 1:43 PM

"...Sparkle Josh is only being kept in the game because he's gorgeous. You know that... The point is; Todd's design was amazing. Robb's personality is the best suited for this competition. (Recognize and define that word - COMPETITION). Sparkle Josh is (unfortunately) gay and HOT..." Posted by Kaylee – August 13, 2007 2:36 PM

:o) Looks like this competition is really "heating up!"

I would like it if Design Star came on (1) hour earlier. We get up early to go to work and during the regular shows we were too tired to stay up;so we ended up waiting till the saturday when all the shows aired, vegging out in front of the telly. I thought it was a tough choice between Kim and Todd. If we had voted we would have voted for Kim. I am glad she had a variety of color to her room. Very sharp. Todd's art was amazing and I liked the way he went from light blue to dark blue. My husband and I are still discussing the benifits and flaws with moving the bedroom. Congrats to you both.

I want Kim to win, I hope she do. I voted for her.

Posted by Rhonda – September 16, 2007 9:50 PM

I think that the men should not be allowed to take off clothing and show off so they can get votes!!!!!!!!!!!!! todd that means you ...WHY do they all do that when they are good looking?

Posted by twila – September 10, 2007 8:08 PM

I have an idea the Design Star show. I think whoever wins...say Kim...HGTV should use "all" of the designers who were voted off as "guest designers"..heck even if they just help paint....it is still keeping the show interesting. If your favorite person was voted off...then you can get excited again to see him / her appear as a guest on "Kim's new HGTV" show. Althought I do think that from the very beginning, Todd said he was the winner before the show even started.

My favorite all time show is Decorating Cents with Joan Steffand and I just love Trash To Treasure with Rob Whitleff. The chemistry between those two is great. I hope they keep Joan around till we are all old and grey. She is WONDERFUL...

This season is a real let down. It's more like
a soap opera than a design competition. The tasks
are not evenly distributed -- a kitchen is much
more difficult than a living room, and deserved
extra help from another carpenter or appliance movers. I am sick of the juvenile antics of a
shirtless surfer! Kim has had the harder jobs, and she is a pleasant person to host. I am looking forward to seeing her very own project in the finale, and hope they receive adequate time to complete it. Being majorly stressed out
and exhausted, without adequate preparation time doesn't seem like the norm for an enjoyable show
to watch. Vern's time on Trading Spaces was about
a rush to execute the design, but not to plan it!
I probably won't watch Season Three, if there is
one. Tears and Tits is crude, but accurate!

I am so glad the judges finally got rid of the right person. Robb was cruel and very abrasive and, like the dog that he is, was put to sleep. I was so nervous I could not stand it. When they announced that his show was cancelled I was so excited. I think this show really brings out the mean side of me; I don't like being mean but I do believe in being honest. He is not a good designer anyway. I just hope that the last two contestants are Will and Kim. Yet, for so strange reason I believe the back flipping surfer dude will win because the judges thinks he's hot. I have yet to see any true interior design work. He would be better off as Kim or Will's carpenter on their new show. He is a creative person but he is no designer. Will did all the work on purchasing and decorating the space while he built the platform (which was cool) but that construction does not constitute design-only creativity.

Who's the fool now Rob:) GO KIM!

Posted by Deb – August 27, 2007 10:51 PM

Robb has finally been eliminated and he actually shed some tears! Then he called the judges fools. To me, this indicates he is not DesignStar or even designer material. This dude is just plain psychotic. The three finalists are hard workers, great designers, and easy communicators. My favorite? KIM. She has the best of all necessary qualifications, and she keeps all of her clothes on. HGTV will queue her up to speed on whatever else she needs after she wins the competition.

I don't like the way this yrs. show is going. It seems like they want to get it over as fast as possible by eliminating 2 at a time. Last yr. they didn't have so many group designs either. Each one needs to showcase their individual talent not how they work with each other. I also don't like the idea that the judges don't actually go and look at their designs. How can they judge sitting in their chairs and watching a short video clip? This yr. is really the pits. I can't even say there is one person I want to see win. They all stink.

I usually enjoy watching programs like Design Star on HGTV, but having to witness such RUDE behavior on television, is not something I really want to deal with when I am attempting to relax. Designers, (Rob), don't have to be ugly to others, and if they are I DON'T want top watch it, so do something HGTV. If the behaviors displayed continue in this unprofessional/ugly manner, I guess I won't be watching this program any longer. Vern, I like you, but not enough to continue to witness such unprofessional behavior. Last season, was fantastic. Great designers who handled themselves in a professional & respectful manner. This season, with Rob especially it seems to not be a concern. Treating each other in an ugly manner seems to be the norm particularly with Rob. There are contestants that remain on the show, and some that have left, who have the professionalism needed to deal with the general public. Will & Kim both have a persona that is welcoming. Like David from last season, they LISTEN.

Posted by Melody B – August 26, 2007 1:15 AM

Like many of you, I've never written a blog before. But I must say that as much as I dislike Robb and his attitude, he did pay attention to what his "clients" wanted. A good designer must always listen to the wishes of the people he is working for. That being said, the design was horrible and not to most of our liking.

I do agree this year's format places way too much emphasis on team design/completion. We really need to see what each individual can design and carry out. I hope the producers take that into account if there is to be a Season Three.

Posted by Virginia – August 25, 2007 10:59 AM

I was Sooo disapointed after this weeks show, I can't believe I waited months for the season to begin and now I do not want to watch anymore. None of the designers left have the appealing personality like David or Alice had. I would not feel comfortable having any of them work for me. I think the show needs to remember who watches HGTV, we are not skateboarders who want cotton ball in our living room, or do we want a rude guy to hang a old car door on our wall. I hope if there is a season 3 it will appeal to us the viewers

hi fans,
i love the show and it just makes my heart stop when i see one of the designers get kicked off and taken off the air, and the wedding reception hall was terrible and what else could it have been it was viva las vegas and that speaks for it self/ the bride was looking great but the reception hall was a minus 4

Posted by minnie – August 22, 2007 8:38 PM

The show this year is reminiscent of “Survivor”, with Robb trying to get everyone voted off the island at all cost. But, let’s take the premise a little further. You will realize the show is all about 'stereo types' this year, (please don't take offense on behalf of your favorites, this IS leading somewhere). OK. You've got the crybaby, the junkyard dog, the surfer dude, the crispy granola guy, the stuck-up b*tch, the hometown sweetheart, N.Y. City sister, little miss power tools, sparkle boy, successful, token-black dude, and punky, artsy chick, (for the kids?). Do you honestly think this is all a coincidence? HELL, NO!!! Take into consideration every other reality show to ever go on to a second season. Year one is always interesting...you hope for more. The Producers & the 'Powers That Be', have taken notice. They will now conspire to improve the show by making every aspect bigger and better. They begin by using 'the formula'...more impossible challenges and more 'interesting' characters, pitted against each other in fierce competition. What they 'think' we want to see is generally what infuriates viewers, who simply crave an honest and fair competition with talented designers - a show, which will ultimately aid and inspire us to be a little more creative in our own day-to-day lives.

Consider the inflated budget this year. The challenges and settings are unrealistic. Do any of you feel the need for assistance in planning a Vegas style wedding, or designing for someone such as Wayne Newton, or whatever's next? I don't remember the last time I personally had that dilemma. Additionally, they seem to believe if the audience 'hates' a particular competitor it will surely improve ratings. The judges appear to be as confused and at odds as the contestants, and Clive looks like he's on Prozac. I've got news, Vern, & company are just as much 'pawns' in the game, as are the contestants and the viewing public. What we need to do is to demand these network execs re-think what they THINK we want. Make it known that sometimes 'less is more', a policy that follows through in nearly every good design, as well. The fault lies with a general misconception by producers, that every one ultimately wants blood. We should express a desire to go back to basics, not accept this 'bigger than life, over the top' production nightmare. It's the essence of quality that's at stake, and also what's missing.

On a lighter note, it is comforting to remember that if by some miracle Robb makes it to the final two, it won’t matter who he’s up against, he’ll never be the lesser of two evils.

Like many of you, I am so disgusted. We were so sorry to see Josh go. The challenge seems so unfair to me. Why was Josh let go? Double elimination was a disaster last night. What did the judges use to eliminate the second one (Josh)? All I heard was he is a good shopper. If Todd or Robb win, I will never bother to watch their show. From the first show, it was very evident that Robb has some serious attitude problems. I loved Josh and Christina and liked their designs so next week certainly won't be exciting. I watch to get ideas but I care nothing about a shipwreck room or any of Todd's work. I would not let him or Robb in my house either. I think the judges should think outside of their boxes...

Posted by cas34 – August 20, 2007 8:18 PM

I thought this was a design competition but it is turning into a conventional Reality Show (which I do not watch). Rob's greatest talent is creating personality conflict on the show which was not what it was all about. His nasty rivalry with Will (the only person left who stand up to him) is not pleasant to watch. This is nasty politics - and a sad spectacle of how people kowtow to those they perceive have power - not interior design. With limited individual challenges I really don't know who was most talented, but a suspect a few of them (Adriana, Sparkle Josh) are already gone.

Robb is generally a tacky designer - from mismatched pillows to faux Tuscan kitchen to this latest spectacle. Todd is over the top and probably is more comfortable with outdoor landscape designing where his designs would be more at home. Kim can set a table but is not a uniquely talented designer. Will may have what it takes I hope he has his own show - possibly teamed up with Sparkle Josh - or Alice from Design Star One. .

Posted by Babette1952 – August 20, 2007 7:01 PM

I think dude, its like unreasonable to have a designer skateboard half naked in your house....sup with that? I liked Christina...I would've watched her show. Go Will!

Posted by whodo – August 19, 2007 10:51 PM

I agree with not watching the show after this year, i was really upset thatr Robb tried t say that Will was the weakest link, when all the designers made him look good, they all worked hard to make his design work, how can the judges overlook this, Robb is the biggest jerk on there and if he wins I will not watch HGTV again, I havw watched faithfully all of their shows but this time it is too much, guess I will go to another network and tell all of my friends not to watch as well.I want to know what they are looking for. To me personality speaks for it's self and Robb has none.

Posted by Ronnie – August 19, 2007 10:42 PM

I have to go back and re-watch this week's epidosde, but geez, is Robb but a jerk or what? To dis Will for not doing his share? I mean the producers must be egging these people on to create hostility. Will is a great designer and I think maybe he could be the next 'design star' Considering the winner gets their own show on HGTV I doubt I would want to watch either Todd or Robb, unless they both had personality transplants. Robb did what the clients wanted, but that is not all this competition is about. The winner has to be 'TV' ready and I can relate to both Kim and Will's personality, tone of voice, and attitude. Kim's design is a bit weak, but she does handle herself well. It if would have been my wedding, Will would have been the designer for the job!!! I can't wait for next week...

Posted by geemartin – August 19, 2007 10:12 PM

This show sucks and this is my last time watching the judges suck and I guess if you ain't running around half clothed or are a nasty person your not qualified this is not good tv feel sorry for the ones who think this is good program this ain't it it should be on talent not on being the most arrogant and nasty peace out see ya

Posted by David – August 19, 2007 10:06 PM

I can't believe Christina was let go! Are they nuts? She and Kim are the only ones with taste! Rob is arrogant and rude and they kept him!
I'm off this show! They ruined it.

Posted by Deb – August 19, 2007 9:36 PM

For episode #3, there's been alot of criticism of Todd...interesting since the designers were told that the "room is about looks not function"! Todd nailed it! So creative and so "outside the box". The other rooms were creative, but a little too "functional". Rob - great job but tone down the attitude (it's about design so let that stand out). Sparkle - do something next week a little less sparkle to show your versatility. Christina - creative but too matchy matchy - mix it up next time. Will - Zen room was very cool and good job on using random stuff. Kim - awesome job with the plates - loved it! Rip it up next week Todd!

Posted by Shelly – August 19, 2007 7:38 PM

LOL - comments from Pammi concerning the constant shirt off/crying going on this year. I love it - Color Splash was an obvious name match for David because of his take on color. Tear and Tits might be this year's winner's perfect show name.

Posted by Cheryl – August 19, 2007 7:24 PM

I think Robbs PERSONALITY should have put him off the show.Whats the matter Robb don't think you can win with out cheating. Not much confidence in your self. LOSSER !!! I am shocked at the judges(what a joke).I would not want that man in my house. Nor would I trust him not to cover up a error and not say anything. Would not watch his show. Underhanded is him to a tee.

Posted by Elizabeth – August 19, 2007 3:23 PM

I LOVE Design Star! Wish they would slow it down a bit and have more individual challenges. Can't wait to see what Todd will do with a real room~I like his confidence. Great to look at, too. Christine is a beautiful woman, liked her design, but wonder if I could listen to her for an entire show, let alone a series. They did work with David, getting him camera friendly. SO glad he won! He was outstanding, especially closer to the end of the series. It's going to be fun to see who wins this one!

Posted by DeLinda – August 19, 2007 2:05 PM

I agree with the postings. This season is a lot lower in quality than the others have been. Why is Design Star going downhill?

These people are professionals and should dress and act like ones. Too much time is spent on how I look, no more topless please. And some of the arguing and backbiting at their ages just doesn't float with me. If they were part of my company and acteded like that they would be fired. My customers want professional designers!

Posted by Cat – August 19, 2007 12:33 PM

I love reading everyone's thoughts and comments, but Christina has to walk away with the new show. She's creative, obviously enjoying the challenges, and doing very good work. Quietly....Robb needs to go to anger management, and Todd needs to keep his clothes on...yeah, looks good, but we've seen enough. Show us the talent!! I nearly came out of my chair when he broke the coffee table over his head last week!!So far, I agree completely with the judges on those who have been 'cancelled'...will hate to see Will go, but all have to go for Christina to have her show...how about this...Will can be Christina's side kick in her show like David got a sidekick!!!!

Posted by Kathy – August 19, 2007 5:31 AM

I agree with whoever said "keep your shirts on". The dress code on HGTV keeps sinking with the Design Star shows. What's wrong with appropriate dress; wouldn't that help everyone focus on the purpose of the show? This year's show seems so contrite and staged.

Posted by Jean – August 18, 2007 10:04 PM

I never missed a show last year and talked on the phone to friends from out of state comparing thoughts and dishing on the action. This year is so different--many of the designers are unlikable and yet, get all the TV time. It's Design Star meets Survivor. I will watch the last show just to see who wins, but the forced "star quality" feels so fake. I can't tell you how disappointed I am--one of my favorite shows has lost it.

Posted by Brenda – August 18, 2007 9:50 PM

I agree that the contestants are being eliminated very qcuikly but it was the same year. The show started with 10 contestants and one (the muralist/bag lady) was eliminated after the first show. The second episode was where there were three teams redoing the house that was not selling and the team leader of the living room ( I don't remember his name) was eliminated. Two more were eliminated (one of the twins and glamiliscious) after the individual room competition. Two more were gone after the kitchen redo - the other twin with his proposal and Donna at the end. That left the final four - David, Alice, Tim, and Temple for the color challenge. This year has been the same except that two got eliminated in episode two but they started with one more so the net number is the same at this point.

I knew Todd in Highschool. I never knew him to be the "yeah, woohoo" guy. He was mellow. I am An artist and have a mural business for kids rooms. When I saw his room last week, I was awed by the wall, but not the functionality. I agree, that I would like to see him in a "real setting" that is functional for a family and what he can create, but meet the needs of people. Just because he is enthusiastic, and vocal about he and others does not make him a jerk. I think maybe T.V. has the tendancy to enhance those moments. However, after watching his intro, remembering him from the past, and seeing him on T.V., I believe he has the same passion for life as I have known before, but feel for him as it has been put in a different light. from one artist to another, Todd, "Drive your Passion Forward. Critics are their own, and if they can't do it themselves, they should have an open mind."-Elizabeth

Posted by Elizabeth – August 18, 2007 12:47 AM

what is wrong with the judges, could we all be that far off base, that they know whats going on and we don't? All I can say is they have made very few choices this season that I could agree with even after thinking about it for a few days... Todd and Robb are jerks, Christine and Kim seem a little boring but still have time and some style. Will and Sparkle Josh, do good work all the time. Scott did really good things,(little over the top, but really no more than high tide or cheap thrill which was cheap) were they afarid he would ace this week so they had to get rid of him last week?

Posted by jcwhite – August 17, 2007 10:50 PM

Can someone explaine to me why they are rushing this season? Well you really can't call it a season when all but 2 competitors will be gone in 4 episodes! They would have been better off to have not done another season. You can tell the judges and even Clive don't seem to be into as they were last season. I'm just disapointed they are not giving these designers time to show what they can do.

Posted by ScooterFL – August 17, 2007 10:17 PM

I think Will in just INCREDIBLE!! He'll win for sure! His designs are 'liveable' and his style is innovative & original... best of luck, Will!!!

Posted by SuzyQ – August 17, 2007 10:06 PM

Can't understand why the producers kept Todd and Robb. Are they trying to build contraversy or are they seeing something we don't. There is no way in hell my wife and I would ever tune into one of these guys if they actually won and got their own show. Scott and Adraina at least have the tallent and likeable personalities to have a decent shot at winning and those of us out here in the real world would enjoy watching sometime in the future. The show is titled Design Star but it seems to be more like Survivor in that Robb and Todd are so abrasive and self centered, the win at all costs attitude is just wrong on this show and this channel.

Posted by Craig – August 17, 2007 9:19 PM

I agree with the first entry, why the big hurry at ending the show? I'm predicting Sparkle Josh as the new Design Star.

Posted by Tracy – August 17, 2007 4:55 PM

I belong to the huge group of Josh fans. He is pure entertainment as well as a talented designer-I agree that last week was just "a bad hair" day for him. it is interesting to me that none of the HGTV designers (except Steve Watson) have picked Josh to win. They want the people who are most like themselves.
If HGTV really wants to keep us happy, they will keep Josh. Will and Josh would be good together, but Josh is way too popular to lose!

Posted by Cynthia – August 17, 2007 4:04 PM

I am so excited the show is back on again. I would have written in before this but I felt that the decisions made the first two weeks were appropriate. I am not quite so sure this last week though. All I could see with Kawabunga Todd's room, were TV's across the Gulf Coast being turned off. I think part of being a host should include awareness of the fact that some artistic statements are less fantasy than reality, and are hurtful and nightmarish to viewers day to day lives. I was more surprised that the judges didn't take this truth into consideration when they chose Todd to win. It's one thing to admire the initial impact of the design, another to disregard the victims of Katrina.
My pick was Will. I would like to see his personality brighten up, but his designs make him my winner. Robb...nnnnno.

Posted by advolpe – August 17, 2007 3:08 PM

I thought Todd's room was exceptionally creative, however, I have one urgent plea: Can Design Stars please KEEP THEIR SHIRTS ON! I loved David from last year, but I was always uncomfortably distracted by tattoos and nipples. I was hoping for a sob-free, chest-free zone this year, but so far no luck. If I ever hire an interior designer I hope I don't have to worry that he'll likely show up half naked and weeping. Enough with the tears and tits already! I beg you.

Posted by Pammi – August 17, 2007 2:50 PM

what a dissapointment that they are eliminating two at a time. what do they ony have a short time to air the show? when they do 2 this week there will be the final four.....i mean come hgtv.....two at a time is just way to much and really cuts the series short.

Posted by Gwen – August 17, 2007 10:41 AM

There is definitely a different "feel" to this season's show, and it isn't good. I really can't see anybody as someone I'd want to watch host their own show. Maybe Sparkle Josh, because he at least seems kind and sincere. I can't figure out what the judges want either. Last season was SO fabulous, and David is too awesome for words! HGTV may have made a mistake trying to do a sequel, and I am really disappointed.

Posted by Thia – August 17, 2007 10:37 AM

Whether or not Robb is a good designer (and I think he's boring at best), there is an element about this show that disturbs me and it can be laid directly at the feet of the network. They are showcasing some really nasty behavior, and then they seem to condone it by having the judges be so complementary and buddy-boy to Robb. My 12-year-old daughter is a big fan of this network (as WAS I), but if this is the trend that they are going with I'm going to have to seriously curtail her time watching. They are beginning to emphasize the wrong things - plain vanilla design and nasty behavior! And we wonder why people are so much ruder than they used to be!!
As for last Sunday, I liked Will and Adriana's rooms the best; Scott's room was almost famtastic and, even tho' he went a bit too far, it was WAY better than Todd's absurdity; Robb and Christina were boring and predictable; Kim shows great promise, but I'm not sure if she has what it takes - yet; Josh fell down a bit on this one, but he's been so successful before this and probably has the best on-screen personality. I don't know what the judges are thinking. They've sent 5 people home so far, and three were the wrong ones!

Posted by JudyS – August 17, 2007 8:37 AM

I agree with the one who says Kim might be the sleeper -- I loved her designs in the "interview" stage and I think she has not yet begun to show is what she can do. Will has consistently put in the time -- I love his style. HERE'S THE DEAL -- the only one that I can see getting a TV show is ....... Josh J. -- so Kim and Will and what's-her-name (oh yeah, christina) better ham it up. Can't even consider the fact that Robb and/or Todd might make it past this next round......

Posted by S. B. Long – August 17, 2007 12:45 AM

I really want Sparkle Josh to win. He has just a fabulous personality that deserves a TV show. I have to say I was very nervous at elimination. I'm not sure I'll continue watching if he's eliminated.
I thought all of the rooms were amazing! I think Robb's work was the strongest. I loved those two colors together. Kudos to Todd for being daring and taking a chance at something that wasn't a safe win. If I would were to hire a designer for my home, it would be Christina. Will's room was great, and who would think that paper plates on a wall would look lovely-amazing, Kim! Scott and Adriana were so creative, they will be missed.

Posted by Daizyk – August 16, 2007 10:08 PM

To the 87 yr old woman: Eye Candy is a hot body that is pleasing to look at. Some people like Todd but I myself, think Robb is the hottest guy there. Does that answer your question? If Sarris has eye candy, it's some hot dude behind the counter. Ask him to take his shirt off and flex his muscles for you and you'll have a dose of eye candy.

Posted by Dee Dee Cee – August 16, 2007 4:51 PM

The recent FoodTV Star series did not go well and I am afraid this current Design Star Series will not go well either...I am not sure there is a designer in the bunch! Sparkle seemed to be a favorite but all he did was a nice, safe room with Will, but it was a good thing, yes. Then he bombed out last week. Why people think Rob's room was good I do not know...it was mediocre but for a person with his personality, I suppose it would be considered a surprise, therefore, good. I don't care who likes Rob or who doesn't like Rob...he is disturbing and he would bring problems to HGTV if he is allowed to win!! Christina is just too tooooo...omg! I don't think anyone should win...maybe Will if he has help, a lot of help...or...maybe Todd if he gets off his high horse!

Posted by shi2shi – August 16, 2007 4:24 PM

HEY OUT THERE, i am the 87 year old lady who asked for eye candy, i live in a small town in Pennsylvania. it has one of the states biggest candy factories called Sarris Candies. except for hershey & i think they moved overseas. ANYWAY i went in there, asked for eye candy & told them that all my friends at HGTV seem to like it. They looked at me & started laughing to the point of tears. i ended up getting my ususal purchace of 1 pound of mixed choclates, no
nuts, they get in my dentures!! STILL NO EYE CANDY HELP ME BLOGGERS!! pl

Posted by pl – August 16, 2007 2:04 PM

I completely agree with jaykay, whoever jaykay is. also, I dont think that todd should have won the last challenge, he completely destroyed the room. Although blue is my favorite color, it looked horrible! It was a cool effect, the wave and all, but c'mon, get real! and Robb is the most conceited guy on the planet earth! have you seen his audition video? Sparkle Josh is a really cool guy, and I loved his design in episode 2- the dining room--amazing! I love josh and I hope he wins, but will and christina are really good too!

I saw the little video of the down time. It was definately a softer, gentler Robb. He was actually likable and very complimentary of the other designer's works.

The "hotties" will fall flat on their faces in the next competition. I don't think a surfer wedding would really fly but then this is being shot in Las Vegas where anything goes. Enough of the crazy stuff, let's see what Todd can do for a normal challenge - I wouldn't let him touch any room IN my house but maybe he would be ok for the OUTSIDE space - way outside.

Robb is just plain obnoxious - he has to go. He couldn't design his way out of a cereal box.

Will and Christina nailed it, plain and simple. Sparkle Josh was having a bad hair day and Kim pulled this one out - she is the sleeper.

A wedding is very personal and something that you want to have perfect. Todd and Robb will be bulls in a china shop on this one - but a very unique challenge.

I'm pretty sure the judges are taking "star" appeal into account. In spite of the great designs, I'm just as interested in the personality mix their keeping in. Can't wait til Sunday!

Design Star is one of the best shows ever! It's a must see for me.....it's my weekly fulfillment! So much so, that my husband calls me "Ms. HGTV"..... I relax when I'm watching these shows.... They enspire me to be more sensitive to color, lines and details. Now, last weeks episode was wild....I really enjoy a group effort, but individuality is what makes a true statement! I knew Will, Christina and Robb would make it through; however, I was not sure about Todd, as the wave theme was too out there....but there is a customer somewhere who will benefit from his designs! I almost always forget about Kim....she's not making a bold-enough statement... We will see next week who takes the cake...speaking of cake, it would be really nice to see who will make the wedding more memoriable...Vegas is alot of things, but I don't think it's boring.....we will see! (Peace)

Woah! I think that whether Josh is gay or not is not "unfortunate." He is beautiful and sensitive and sweet. I don't think he'll be able to beat Will or Christine, but I'll bet he does a lot better in the "wedding challenge" than Todd or Robb (too much testosterone)! Those two will be like "bulls in a china shop!" Just my opinion, folks!

I agree w/ you. They have to keep viewers interested. If everyone got along so well on camera what would we have to talk about...not much! I don't like Robb either but I don't dislike him as much as I did in the first 2 episodes. Maybe he should take his shirt off in the next show. I LOVE sparkle Josh but have a feeling he's not going to win so we should probably try to like Robb a little more?
