Kim gives the lowdown on the contestant's yard sale picks and their living room makeovers in the historic second challenge.

D Paul did not complete his garage sale item. That's why he went home, and Tracee didn't. Sorry guys, but Tracee has to not complete, or not follow the instructions, like D. Paul, and like Michael.
She will not win this, I promise.

I'm so over Tracee. She really should have been sent home tonight. I guess we will have to endure for one more week.

I keep wondering why Tracee is still there. She sure likes pitting people against each other. Doesn't play well with others at. What would she do if she were my designer that I hired? Fight with me and tell me my wishes for my room were stupid and only she was right. She won't make it in the real world.
Off with Tracee

Kim, comgrats albeit it late. You are the only one I've voted for, although I love David and think he was the right, although difficult, choice. I voted for you as long as my fingers held out. You blew your competition out of the water and you really have not disappointed me. You are never going to please all of your millions of viewers all of the time, but darn girl, you give it a heck of a shot. And where did you get that camera presence? I want you to come over for a drink and just chat. You are great: creative, hard working, nice and have a terrific sense of humor, You go girl!

I felt really bad when Scottie was cancelled. His room had some potential. Maybe tiedye is out but I thought the room looked pulled together except for the large wall that had only one small plant on it. At least he was friendly. Tracee is mentally unfit to have a show. I believe Matt or Michael will win. Also, the designer that always cries will surely go soon!

kim-you are so much fun and the camera LOVES YOU!!!!
great job expressing your opinions without getting wrapped up in all the drama. i will be waiting for these words: tracee your show has been cancelled!!!!

I am a little disappointed in this years show & judging. I'm starting to notice a trend that is not good - and that is that the judges/network execs have already made some decisions on who stays and who goes, and drop people who are good.
First show - instead of getting rid of one of the designers who's room was designated a failure, they get rid of the designer who actually finished his room - by himself. Maybe they didn't like the color - but it wasn't a failure. Tracee's room was considered a failure for the wall color she choose, but they kept her. No - let's dump Scottie, who actually succeeded.
I wondered if they kept Rob last year (who was on the block 50% of the time) because they thought the controversy he engendered raised ratings. People want to see good design, and competent designers not controversy.
Tracee stating that she's ashamed to be associated with some people in the group - that's controversy, so - let's keep her.
Very disappointing.

Kim i love your show and David B. and i think ya'lls personality have a major factor in your show and your designs! I do believe that getting read of DPaul so early into the game was not a good choice and that Tracee needs to go quick she is a huge ugly sore on the show, no personality at all so hard to get along with and puts to much stress on others with her faith in herself!!!! Just like Rob she needs no fans or friends they love theirselves to much and have no room in their lifes for anyone or anything else. Bring DPaul back and take away the rotten termiteinfested personality Tracee. Oh and Vern i Love your show and watch it. Derserving Designs.

I love your show, Kym. You are more creative than you were on Season 2 showed you to be. I guess you had to do designs based on the project of the week. You and David (Season 1) are very creative with different styles of decorating.
While I'm not particularly impressed with any of the designers this season, maybe they will prove themselves worthy of being on the show. I also agree that based on what Tracee has produced on the show thus far, should have been sent home last week instead of DPaul. However, I think he would have been asked to leave soon.
I do hope that the contestants show more creativity soon, and learn from the previous two seasons that we don't like seeing grown adults acting like little children bickering with each other. Ever heard of "if you can't say anything positive about someone, don't say anything". Try it. You'll like how it makes you feel.

I totally agree, Tracee has to go. No talent, whinny and disagreeable.

Love your show Kim and you and David B are exemplary of what the Design Show star should be.
Not so much this season eh? I'm sure someone will emerge but so far two people who had design sense have been kicked off the show. Someone with NO design sense and a horrid personality is still there. Does this mean that it's all about ratings? Do the producers think that someone like Tracee brings people back? Not I. I can assure you. If she is still lacking any notable talent next week and someone else who does is kicked off, I'm no longer watching the show. Too bad because it is a fun show. But I refuse to be a pawn in that game.
Please producers, make it about design and not about ratings!!!

This is my third year watching D-Star. DPaul should still be there. Why do we still have Tracee, the drama queen who is ashamed to be associated with some of the other contestants?
DPaul presented interesting ideas and was pleasant to watch.
Tracee is oh so negative and whines and cries like a six year old.
Wonder how she works with vendors in the real world...
Is it possible to bring DPaul back?

Kim, you are great. I loved me some DPaul too, lol. But I do have to say that I do think they made the wrong decision on that one. Crown extension...not the best choice, but Tracee not only has limited design talent, but she has issues. She needed to go. We love you Kim, keep your head up.

Kim, enjoying your blog opinions about this season's show. You have such concise opinions that teach us at the same time about design. Your new show is enjoyable too and you have the greatest on-camera personality. I guess I don't agree that D. Paul should have been dropped because of poor time management - that reasoning didn't hold true last week when poor time management crept into Jennifer and Stephanie's room that the judges called a failure! I just wish there was more uniformity in the judges decisions - it seems they keep the contentious ones like Tracee the same as they did Rob last year, as you well know, and we, the viewers, hate watching them. Kudos to you for hanging in there under all that stress! Much continued success to you!

I'm sorry, Kim; I love your designs and creativity, but I have to disagree with your saying that you thought that letting D'Paul go was a good choice. Tracee is such a drama queen, such a cry baby and most definitely not a team player. She picks on everyone else, and thinks she is so great. She's the one who should have gone. Of course that is just my personal opinion, but from some of the comments on some of the other blogs, there are others who agree with me.

For the second week in a row, I haven't agreed with the judges on who should have gone home....although I did agree with them on the previous two seasons. I think Tracee should have gone home. She doesn't work well with others and she isn't very innovative. I would have given DPaul another chance.....he was great last week and between those two....Tracee needed to go....buh-bye

I am a huge fan - but sincerely disapointed so far this year! The talent does not come close to the two previous years. When are we going to see some design that will knock our socks off? Soon I hope.

Kim, I enjoy listening to your opinion after these episodes. You are equally gracious with praise or criticism. I loved DesignStar last year, and I'm just as captured this season. I'm very anxious to see the remaining designers work solo next week to see if one or more really step up and "WOW" all of us! Hope you have a great week :)
